Student Resources at DU

DU wants its students to thrive academically and personally. It provides many resources to support its students.  

The Academic Resources team empowers students to take ownership of their education by partnering with faculty, staff, administrators, and families to create an inclusive learning environment and network of resources. These resources include:  

  • Academic Advising: where academic advisors will meet one-on-one with you throughout the year to map out your academic plan and make sure you are on track to graduation. 
  • Disability Services Program (DSP), is able to support you if you need special accommodations such as assistive technology or extended test taking. 
  • Learning Effectiveness Program (LEP) assists if you need additional academic support, you can enroll in LEP to receive individualized academic counseling, tutoring and organizational help. 

The University Writing Center works with all University of Denver students, staff, and faculty as part of the Writing Program’s mission to create and sustain a robust culture of writing on the DU Campus. The Writing Center provides online 45-minute consultations, where they work with writers individually and in groups to discuss their work and to help them hone their skills and practices, with an eye both on the texts at hand and on the writers’ goals and needs. 

Counseling Services is here to support your transition to DU and other transitions in your life as well as support your development and growth. Our services are all confidential and no information is released to anyone without your written consent except in the case of a life-threatening emergency or when it is otherwise required by law. 

The Career and Professional Development Center at DU works with all undergrad and graduate students. Aiding with internship and job searches, networking opportunities, along with resume and interview help. 

DU students may be eligible for SNAP (Supplem ental nutrition assistance program). Students who are interested in applying for Colorado SNAP Benefits can view eligibility requirements here. Specific eligibility requirements for students can be viewed here.
